Polidor, a renowned family camp in Funtana, Poreč (Istria), expanded its offerings to include an exclusive beach bar adjacent to the campsite. As the beach bar evolved to offer a more luxurious experience distinct from the family camp, Polidor faced a branding dilemma: modify the existing identity to align with the camp or create a new brand altogether. Through a strategic analysis and collaboration with the client, Zambelli Design concluded that a separate brand identity was necessary to better connect with the target audience. Thus, D’Or Beach Bar was born, blending elements of Polidor's legacy with a premium, high-class service experience.

Overview

Zambelli Design partnered with Polidor to develop the branding strategy for D’Or Beach Bar, aiming to create a distinct identity that reflects its upscale offerings while maintaining a connection to the Polidor camp. The new brand, D’Or, embodies luxury, cosmopolitanism, and innovation, targeting customers seeking an elegant and sophisticated beach experience. Departing from typical beach bar symbolism, Zambelli Design drew inspiration from the ancient Roman sea goddess, Salacia, to evoke a sense of divine luxury and Mediterranean charm.

Approach

The approach to designing D’Or's brand identity centered on elegance, originality, and Mediterranean allure. Zambelli Design crafted a visually striking iconography featuring a beautiful female face surrounded by sea creatures, symbolizing the divine experience offered by D’Or Beach Bar. The color palette transitioned from beige-white shades to dark blue and pastel yellow, accented with gold, evoking the sophistication of the Mediterranean coastline. The typography incorporated elements reminiscent of sea fins and mermaids, adding a whimsical touch to the brand's personality. The slogan, "A splash of gold," further emphasized the luxury service and refined ambiance of D’Or Beach Bar.

Results

The rebranding of Polidor's beach bar to D’Or has successfully positioned it as a premier destination for luxury beach experiences in Istria. The new brand identity, characterized by its elegance, originality, and Mediterranean charm, instantly communicates the upscale offerings and high-class service provided by D’Or Beach Bar. Guests can now easily identify the type of experience they can expect at D’Or through its visually captivating branding, setting the stage for another successful tourist season.
